 Chemotherapy
Patients receive inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy in a comfortable setting by a compassionate staff.
Radiation treatments
We perform a variety of radiation treatments designed to minimize side effects and provide patients with the maximum quality of treatment.
Radiation treatment is administered with the help of computer driven equipment, which ensures accuracy when targeting a tumor and protects surrounding healthy tissue. The patient lies on a moveable treatment couch and lasers are used to make sure the patient is in the proper position. This approach allows us to deliver high doses of radiation to the tumor.
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center currently has two linear accelerators, one of which is the new TomoTherapy system. TomoTherapy is the latest medical treatment delivery system that uses a CT scan to locate and confirm treatment sites prior to delivery of radiation.
Brachytherapy is performed by inserting or implanting a radioactive source into the tumor. This procedure can often be done on an outpatient basis. Brachytherapy may result in faster treatment delivery and shorter hospital time for inpatients.
